Project Reflection

Throughout these two months of my project, there has been several ups and downs. My end product is completely different to what I initially planned, which is not a bad thing at all.

This project taught me how to develop my ideas and how to not limit yourself to possible opportunities. I was very free during my project which helped me progress as a person and as a communicator. I gained a lot of new skills like editing, website making and the most important, professional photography. I learn't how to conduct a professional photoshoot, the equipment, lighting, cameras, lenses and so much more. The photoshoot was definitely the best part of by project where I got to experiment a lot and gain a lot of knowledge.

The worst part of my project was probably not being sure about my final outcome. I spent the first three weeks just researching about magazines and gaining knowledge about that, which I ended up not needing. I wasted a lot of time on that, whereas I could have used that time to develop my website further and conduct more photoshoots. My mistake was definitely running into research without actually thinking of what I wrote in my project proposal. Even though most of my magazine research was quite useless, I still gained a lot of knowledge and information from it. I found new artists and photographers which have definitely impacted my work and my photoshoot, like Steven Klein. Looking into magazine layouts also came in hand when I was creating my website layouts.

The biggest problem in my project was definitely workflow. Especially on the last week before my project is due, it has not been working at all. It would take about 5 minutes to load each thing and add a new element to my page. Even throughout my project, my boxes and elements would always randomly move around and change place, as well as delete. I definitely did not enjoy working on this platform since it took a long time to load and do something on it. I prefer google slides, which I worked on in my Euphoria and website research.

I feel like my outcome is successful and it reflects my intended idea. Initially, I wanted to create something that will inform my audience about Euphoria, its secrets, influences and how to recreate certain stuff. Creating a website gave me an opportunity to include all of these topics in one medium. My website also reflects my target audience (gen z and millennial). My website is very bright and playful. The layout of some of the pages is also quite chaotic and crazy. Young adults and teens are known to be the rebellious type which is why I created my website the way I did. I hope my website will help people and give them what they need.
