Photoshoot Process + Reflection

I really enjoyed creating my photoshoot. During all of it, I used a circle light reflector.I used this when I was photographing without the color lights. When photographing with the colored lights, I used a silver light reflector. I directed a small white light onto the silver reflector, which gave a subtle light on Ana's face. I didn't use the big lights since that was too much lighting for when photographing with the colors. Throughout my photoshoot, I always changed around the positioning of the lights and where the lights fall on. I also constantly changed the angles and positions from which I was photographing, to get a good range of images. Throughout most of the colored light images, I used a blue filtered light as well as a pink filtered light. Towards the end, I suddenly found a purple filter, which came out of nowhere. I then experimented with that. The images with the purple filter turned out a lot nicer in my opinion. The blue filtered light made my models face quite dark, whereas the purple filtered light added some more light and created a very nice looking glow on my models face.

Also, we spend a lot of time photographing with the colored lights and lost track of time. We only had around 30 minutes to get ready for the second look as well as photograph it. This was a very big negative since we didn't experiment with the second look, since thee studio had to be locked. Our time management was quite bad and next time I need to divide my time for two looks equally, not what I did now.

Also, when photographing the first look, I decided to take some pictures in light, without the colored lights. These images turned out very well. They quite remind me of a beauty shoot. These images had a pink tint to them, which I did not expect. The light was white, but still reflected as a rosie color. I loved the outcome of this. Perhaps this is because I used a circle light reflector in front of the light which minimized the light that went onto my models face.

Also, I loved using the white and silver light reflector. It changed the image outcomes a lot and I will definitely use it again in the future when photographing portraits. It really smoothed the face.

Overall, It was an amazing photoshoot. I loved experimenting with all of the lighting and equipment. But, it was very hard to do everything myself. I had to photograph, as well as hold one colored light and hold the light reflector as well. This was quite hard and made the process a lot more complicated and slower. I also didn't have full stability of the camera since I was holding it with only one hand. Next time I conduct a similar photoshoot, I will. definitely make sure I have at least one person helping me hold the equipment.
